Early days

 

About 1450

Leonardo da Vinci observed the birds and designed aircrafts including the first flying boat.

1921

C. Wieselsberger published in the "magazine für Flugtechnik und Motorluftschifffahrt for aviation and aeronautics" for the first time findings about the glide ratio for the ground effect.

1961

Rostislav Evgeneevitsch Alekseev (Sowjetunion) developed the Ekranoplan - named as the monster of the Baikalsea.

1963 - 1971

Prof. Dr. Alexander Lippisch developed the X-112. For the first time ther is a wing profile that achieves the necessary flight stability when using the ground effect. X113 and X114 followed.

1996

Development of a prototype two-seater. The research in the field of hover technology was funded by the German Government. With about 7 million in funding.

1997

The Hoverwing 2 VT was developted by Hanno Fischer. The prototype 2VT get over 3000 kilometers and demonstrated the suitability of the concept supported by a variety of measurements.

2001

Under supervision of “Germanischer Lloyd” a ground-effect vehicle were classified.

2005

 

Founding of the maritime private equity club trough four private family offices for developing wing-in-ground-effect vehicles.

2008

The Equity Club founded Holomix Engineering Ltd  a private company with an paid share capital of British Sterling 6,600,000.

2010

Renamed in HIGHSHIP INDUSTRIES

2010

Founding the Charity Foundation “HighShip Material Science Research Foundation” in Hamburg, Germany
